The story aforesaid how nine very bright, disk-shaped objects were seen by Kenneth Arnold, a Boise, Idaho, businessman, whereas he was flying his private rc plane near Mount Rainier, in the state of Washington. With journalistic license, reporters converted Arnold’s description of the private motion of each of the objects, “like a saucer omitting across water”, into “flying saucer,” a name for the objects by themselves.
Many years have transferred since Arnold’s unique sighting, and the phrase has turned out to be so common that an entry became in Webster’s Dictionary, and it is recognized at present in most languages across the world.
Temporarily after the Arnold sighting, the term “flying saucer” was used to describe almost all disk-shaped objects that were seen flashing through the sky at fantastic speeds. Before long, reports were made from objects besides disks, and even these were also referred to as flying saucers. Now the words are popularly applied to anything seen in the sky that can never be identified as a very common, everyday object.
In Kokomo, Indiana cooks of that area have reported a ‘hum’ that has been so constant an annoying which includes forced them to move away, it has also made many people sick. Reports indicate that it is coming from underground although nothing substantial has been proven, but it has been suggested that there is massive underground tunneling and excavating going on to use as underground containment and storage facilities.
There are many so called secret bases all over America which relate to unidentified flying objects, Dayton, Ohio has an air force repository, rumored to house alien craft and remains, stealth technology and pro-type craft. An air force base near Reno suspected UFO base with at least seven underground levels. There are to many more to mention in this article, but remember this the next time you see an unidentified flying object, especially anywhere in the states, step back and realize, that maybe, it could be something else, that is being kept secret from us, for reasons that only they know. We all remember something of Area 51 well at the time they insisted that it was all in our imagination, until Russian satellite photographs found there way into US sources, now it almost common knowledge.
In other words, a flying saucer can be a formation of bright lights, a single light, a sphere, or some other shape; and it can be any color. Performance wise, flying saucers can hover, go fast or slow, go high or low, turn 90-degree corners, or disappear almost instantaneously.
Clearly the term “flying saucer” is open to interpretation when objects of every imaginable shape and performance are labeled as such. For this reason the military prefers the more general, if less colorful, name: unidentified flying objects. UFO (pronounced Yoo-foe) for short.
